Future Presidents

With a shortened week due to the crazy winter weather, we spent our two days of school last week learning all about Presidents' Day!

We learned fun facts about Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, the Presidents whose faces are on our coins and bills, the White House, and duties of the President.  

We wondered what we would look like if we were the first President in the time where powdered wigs and ponytails were the fashionable hair styles.  I think we would have made adorable presidents, powdered wigs and all!

Happy V'owl'entines Day!

We had a wonderful week in PreK B preparing for Valentine's Day.  Take a look at all of the love we made to spread around!

We decorated our bulletin board with cute little bees with a big question: Bee Mine?

We made tissue paper stained glass hearts for to fill our windows with love.

We made Valentine's to hang from the ceiling that showed the greatest love of all, that of Jesus Christ.

We made love monsters to decorate our cabinet doors.

We made Pete the Cats because Pete thinks Valentine's Day is COOL.

Finally we made Valentine's to share with you, our wonderful families!

Thank you for all of your help making these wonderful Valentine's Day boxes to hold all of the love from our fellow classmates!

We had a great time enjoying a yummy snack and exchanging valentines Friday afternoon!

Catholic Schools Week

What a great Catholic Schools Week we had!  

On Monday Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Straessle dressed up for Students Day and the kids all enjoyed an extra slice of pizza at lunch thanks to Mrs. Dobbins.

We also decorated our door with Tacky Penguins, the main character from Tacky, a story about a penguin who didn't quite fit in but his individuality ended up saving the entire group from hunters.

 Tuesday we enjoyed Donuts with Dads, and grand-dads!

Wednesday we thanked those at our school, community helpers, and our parents by making Thank You cards.  PreK B got to make cards for Father Tom and the LR Fire Department.

Thursday we enjoyed Muffins with Moms!

We also got to shop at the Book Fair on Thursday, thanks to all of the Jr High Students that helped us with our purchases!

We ended our week with a delicious spaghetti lunch on Friends and Family Day.  All of our little hoots had a blast with their families!
