Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, "Glory To The Newborn King!"

While gingerbread and Santa Claus are exciting elements of the holiday season, we made sure to keep our focus on the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Savior.

Mrs. Straessle led wonderful religion lessons on the season of advent and each week we learned about the Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace we find through Christ and the Story of His birth.

We decorated our bulletin board with the hand prints and faces of sweetest angels I know!

Our 4th grade buddies from Mrs. Roberson's class read us a wonderful story about the candy cane.  We learned that we can use the candy cane to share the story of Jesus with others, the red symbolizes the blood of Christ that was shed for our salvation, the white symbolizes our redemption and our sins being washed as white as snow when we believe in Him, and the shape of the candy cane can be a J for Jesus or a shepherd's staff to symbolize Jesus taking care of us, his flock.

One of my favorite crafts of the season was decorating stars to hang on our classroom Christmas tree.  To have seen the star in the Bethlehem sky that led the shepherds and magi to the King would have been a wonderful sight!

What a beautiful tree!

We ended the month with a PARTY!

Mrs. Melanie read us the wonderful book 'Twas the Night Before Christmas, we made gingle bell necklaces, colored, danced, watched Frosty the Snowman, played outside, and enjoyed lots of yummy food and goodie bags!

Thank you so much to all of the parents and grandparents who came to the party, sent food and supplies, led crafts, entertained kids, and helped Mrs. Straessle corral kiddos on the playground.  Our party would not have been possible without you!

I hope everyone had a magnificent Christmas and that your New Year's celebrations are just as wonderful.  What a blessing to share the holidays with friends and family and the wonderful families represented in PreK B.

See you all in 2015!!!
