Down on the Farm

Last week 16 adorable Hoots donned their farmer and animal costumes and took the stage to bring their wonderful performance of "Down On The Farm."  I was so proud of all of them, they did a wonderful job singing, speaking, and dancing on stage in front of their school mates, friend, and families.

As we settled back into our normal daily routine we learned all about things that live under and grow in the ground.  My favorite project of the week was learning about different root vegetables and learning that they could be used for more than just food.  Did you know you could use potatoes as stamps?!  Look at our awesome stamp patterns!

We ended the week with drawing underground burrows for the animals we learned about that live underground.  It was neat to see how each child planned and furnished each of their burrows!

It was such an eventful and fun week, we can't wait for all of the fun that May will bring with its end of the school year activities!

Hippity Hoppity Easter's On Its Way!

Last week we learned all about the letter Y!

We learned about yaks, the color yellow, yams, did some yoga,

and made yo-yo's for our alphabet journal!

Last week was National Library Week so we had a special group of visitors come and read to us, Kindergarten!  The kids were so excited to see that next year they would be the "big kids" sharing all of their smarts and skills with the incoming PreK students!

The kids favorite part of the week was by far the Easter Egg Hunt!  Mrs. Straessle and I are so glad that we have all of our "Peeps"!

I really did try to get an up close group shot of all of the kids after the hunt but they were all too occupied with checking out their eggs to stop and smile! This is the best group shot of the day...when the anticipation of having to sit and wait for the "OK" to hunt was killing them!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend with friends and family, especially your sweet kiddos!
