Some Bunny Loves You!

I apologize for the long post and for falling behind in updating the blog the past few weeks.  Preparations for the program have taken the forefront but I am happy to finally share all of the fun things we did in the first two weeks of April!

As we continued to observe the Lenten season the first of April on brought about our heightened anticipation of Easter!

We began the month by making adorable bunnies for our bulletin board.

We then learned the meaning of the phrase "In like a lion, out like a lamb" while studying the letter W.

While studying the letter W we learned about the world we live in and we used watercolors to paint our own worlds.

We made books that showed the perspective of our own home within our city, state, country, and world.  The kids were amazed to learn that we could be one tiny speck on the globe!

We also made walrus with W tusks, they turned out comically adorable!

Our Easter Wabbits also turned out quite cute if I do say so myself!

Bryceson celebrated his 5th birthday!

In preparation for our program we got to practice our songs with Mrs. Jones, the music teacher, in the music room!

The second week of April we studied the letter X and made xylophones for our Alphabet Journals!

We made beautiful "stained glass" tissue paper crosses for the windows.  I love how they turned out with all of their beautiful spring colors.

The week we studied the letter x we learned all about scientists and conducted our own experiments to see if we could separate the primary colors from secondary color markers.

We each started with our favorite secondary color marker.

After selecting our marker we drew a line one inch from the bottom of our paper towel strip.

Finally, we placed our paper towel strips in our cups of water and waited to see if the colors would separate.  We found that green worked the best whit the blue separating to the top and the yellow slowly separating to the bottom.

The orange also separated, although faint, into red and yellow.

To end our week we got to watch our 4th grade reading buddies set off their model volcanoes!

Last Saturday at the CHS Rocket 5K both Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Straessle participated and Austin ran in the kid's dash!

Look at him go!!!

Way to go Austin!
