So Very Thankful

It's hard to believe it's already November, and that Thanksgiving is just around the corner!  This month we will be talking about the many things, and people, in our lives that we are thankful for.

While we may not be very thankful for the cold temperatures that November brought in, we are thankful for the beautiful foliage and all of the magnificent colors of fall.  The beautiful trees around our campus were the inspiration for the decorations that hang from our ceiling.  Simply mix paint in your favorite fall colors with shaving cream,
dip your leaf template,
allow to dry,
scrape away all of the shaving cream and voila!  Beautiful leaves from what started as a big mess!

Our window decorations for November also represent something we are thankful for, the harvest.  We are thankful for all of the farmers who work to provide us with food, for God granting good weather so the crops can grow, and for our families that work to provide all of the food we need.

There are many wonderful people that keep Holy Souls up and running and we are very thankful for them!  Each student made a card for someone around campus who helps us in prek.  Each recipient was so grateful for the card and they were all very impressed that we took the time to personalize each card with their name!  PreK B is thankful for:

Ms.Ellie, our school librarian
Mr. Arthur, our head maintenance man
Fr. Tom
Mrs. Suski, our school secretary
Mrs. Dobbins, our head principal
Mrs. Korte, our school secretary/nurse
Mrs. Handloser, our assistant principal
Mrs. Kohler, our student services coordinator
Ms. Brune, our athletic director and assistant extended care director
Mrs. Palazzi, our technology coordinator
Mr. Kaylan and Mr. Verlin, our school cooks
Ms. Myra, our school lunch lady and extended care worker
Mrs. Miller, our PE teacher who lets us play in the gym on Friday mornings
Miss Kat, one of our two student helpers from Mount St. Mary
Miss Samantha, one of our two student helpers from Mount St. Mary
Mrs. Shollmeier, who brings her 4A class to read to us once a month
Mrs. Roberson, who brings her 4B class to read to us once a month
Fr. Erik
Mr. David, our school maintenance man

Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Straessle are very thankful for our wonderful students!  So as a special Friday treat to end our study of the letter I we made ice cream!

Milk, sugar, vanilla, chocolate, salt, ice, and LOTS of shaking made our delicious afternoon treat!
Shake, shake, shake!
Yum!
Seconds please!
