B...B...Buzz said the Bumble Bee as he ate his Blue Butter

I apologize in advance for such a long blog post, we just did so many exciting things last week that you should see!

As we began our study of the letter B we learned about how bees help pollinate the apple trees that produce the yummy treats we have been enjoying all month. We then made our own bees to hang around the classroom, aren't they adorable?!

Our focus of the week was on keeping safe.  We went on a sign hunt around the school and the kids couldn't believe how many traffic signs they found!
And in case you didn't know, this is where Ninja Turtles live.  :)

This week we had a visit from Father Erik.  He talked to us about the importance of prayer and how any conversation with God is good.  We also learned all about St. Benedict and how he spent three years in a cave praying to God for a vision of what his life's mission should be.  God showed St. Benedict that he should build a monastery to minister to his community.

Our shape of the week was the rectangle.  To incorporate the rectangle into our safety theme we made traffic lights.  Look how great they turned out!

Our apple treat of the week that we cooked on Friday morning was applesauce.  First you cut up your apples and add them to your crockpot,
then add sugar,
and water,
lemon juice,
and finally cinnamon.
Cook on high for four hours and voila, applesauce!

Friday we recognized National Go Running Day!  Even though it rained that couldn't dampen our Wabbit spirit, we moved our festivities into the gym!
We ran relays in small groups with our 8th grade track team buddies.  Look at PreK B go!

Our final B activity of the week was to make BLUE BUTTER!  Heavy whipping cream, a dash of salt, two drops of blue food coloring, and a ton of shaking later we had our own yummy spread.

Hope your weekend was as wonderful as our week!
